Character animation
Relationships Australia SA · Winning
A character animation about gambling harm that shows, rather than lectures.
Relationships Australia SA
Relationships Australia SA runs gambling help services and wanted a video about gambling harm. It's a subject that is easy to preach about and hard to talk about honestly.
The brief
The video needed to reach people who might not think they have a problem, without making anyone feel judged or singled out.
The approach
I designed the characters and animated Winning as a short story. You see the pattern build through everyday moments with a phone in hand, and come to it yourself instead of being told off.
Character animation suits subjects like this. People can see themselves in it without feeling like it's about them. It's one of my favourite pieces of character work.
