Health explainer
Heart Foundation · Heart failure explainer
A clear heart failure explainer, made to work in more than one language.
Heart Foundation, via KOJO
The Heart Foundation needed to explain heart failure, what it is and what it feels like, to a wide, multicultural audience. KOJO brought CrispFX in to animate it.
The brief
Health information like this only works if people understand it the first time. The video had to be calm, clear and easy to adapt for viewers who speak languages other than English.
The approach
Simple, bold pictographic figures carry the story: a heart that becomes enlarged, weak or stiff, a magnified look at what happens in the body, the symptoms people notice. Captions are burnt in, and on-screen text was built to be swapped, so the same animation could carry other languages.
What was delivered
- Heart failure explainer animation (2019)
- Versions in 12 more languages: Arabic, Cantonese, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Mandarin, Punjabi, Sinhalese, Spanish, Turkish, Urdu and Vietnamese, several with English subtitles
- Facebook cuts and caption files
