E-learning series
Edith Cowan University · PSI training series
Over 70 videos that teach mental health workers real therapy techniques, with characters performed from motion capture of the course educators.
Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University's Psychosocial Interventions (PSI) training teaches mental health workers three evidence-based approaches: Adherence Therapy, Behavioural Activation and Family Work. The course needed video that shows those techniques in action, not just describes them. CrispFX made over 70 of them.
The brief
The audience is people learning to support others through hard moments. The videos had to model real conversations with care, and a library this big still had to feel like one course.
The approach
The series runs across three formats. Modelling videos show a full session play out between a clinician and a client. Clinical conversations break each skill into simple steps and visuals. Podcast episodes let the educators go deeper.
For the modelling videos, the educators roleplayed real counselling sessions. I motion captured them, designed characters in their likeness and acted the characters out, so learners see the experts' own technique without anyone real on the line.
One visual system ties the whole library together: the same characters, palette and ECU branding in every video.
