AEW's social team needed a steady stream of motion pieces around its biggest shows. STN Digital brought CrispFX in to cut sizzles and animate graphics for them.
The approach
Match-up graphics went big on type and faces, like Hangman and the Dark Order against The Elite, or Darby Allin and Ethan Page before their Coffin Match, built to drive tune-in on TNT. Augmented highlights added effects to real footage: a lightsaber in Sting's hands for Star Wars Day, lightning for Chris Jericho's wizard and Toni Storm's debut, and debris as a ladder match went through the ring. The Forbidden Door sizzle opens in a dark warehouse, swings a metal door open and pushes straight into match highlights.
