Challenges
Approached by STN Digital to animate a series of storyboards created in this unique and exciting digital artwork. The video needed to excited and resonate with an audience of varying demographics.
Time crunch: With the Indiana Pacers on a playoff run, this animated video was timely and needed to utilise the commentators' audio that was timely.
Global Reach: Utilising social media, the animation needed to reach a global audience, which means it needed to capture the viewer's attention from the beginning
Hype and artwork: Most importantly, collaborating with a series of people, we needed to make sure this video was HYPE. This meant utilising unique artist talents to create the artwork that CFX then animated
Approach
We collaborated closely with STN Digital to approach the animation in a way that addressed these challenges while adhering to quick turnaround and branding guidelines. Our process included:
Communication: Working with STN Digital, we needed to make sure the artwork was appropriate to animate and in the correct formats. As CFX was not in charge of this.
2D Animation: Bringing the storyboards to life with quick shots, lots of layered elements like lightning and hand-animated frame-by-frame elements. We created a vibrant 2D animation, ensuring quick transitions to make sure we caught people's attention on social media platforms like Instagram.
